Some of the old masters cross-trained with one-another.  Chojun Miyagi also trained under Anko Itosu.  Takahara Peichin had multiple teachers, but I chose only to list his main instructor's lineage.  Not listed is Kusanku.  It is believed that he taught the Kusanku kata to Chatan Yara, Takahara Peichin, and Sakukawa Kanga, but too little is known about him to list him officially.  Also, ranks are not listed any farther, because they were not given out until modern times.
